On the night of the referendum I reconnected my VAST satellite as I have not watched free to air television since all the free to air broadcasting networks were handed millions in questionable circumstances by the government.
The dribble I witnessed switching between SBS and the ABC referendum broadcasts from the so called city Indigenous crowd made me feel like I was from another planet. Nothing they said reflected anything like my experience in Aboriginal communities in the Cape.
It’s wasn’t just the woke crowd I was bamboozled by, the Prime Minister spoke first and then the opposition leader, it appears both Liberal and Labor governments are misleading the public on what Indigenous or non Indigenous Australians need or don’t need in remote communities.
Mr Albanese appears to be burning up tons of avgas attending private meetings with self proclaimed climate gurus, unelected World Economic Forum members and then happily throwing millions to the Gates foundation, millions to the Clinton foundation, millions to Ukraine and now Millions on the Gaza strip conflicts, all while genuine remote Aboriginal kids in Australia don’t have a basic loaf of bread on the table to make a sandwich.
It’s also of my understanding that Mr Dutton was a policeman before becoming a career politician, now as the opposition leader I’m led to believe his Net worth is in the vicinity of 300 million ( https://www.idolnetworth.com/peter-dutton-net-worth-224317 ) all while the alleged lawful businesses within his family profit from child care centres that CITY Aboriginal children may attend fully subsidised by the government.
Every Aboriginal and non Aboriginal person I speak to in Cape York are sick and tied of governments, charity’s or government funded organisation’s in cities filling their pockets with billions of dollars that never hit the ground in remote Aboriginal communities. Furthermore don’t be fooled by the recent announcement from government regarding a discount on selected groceries in remote Queensland as 5% off 8 bucks for a loaf of bread equals $7.60 which is still 3 times the cost of a loaf of bread in Australian cities.
We didn’t need to spend millions on a referendum nor millions on a unethical inquiry, We need the crooks within government identified, arrested, charged and tried then sentenced to prison if found guilty including restitution for causing this mess.
I ask this one question, WHO authorises the 39.5 billion dollars year after year that’s handed out to Indigenous corporations, charities or land councils with fully staffed offices with 4×4 in cities & major towns (not in the community’s) that have never successfully managed 1 simple thing, to allow every Aboriginal kid access to a loaf of bread to make a sandwich in remote communities in Australia?
