By Dave Oneegs
Kary Banks Mullis was an American biochemist.
In recognition of his invention of the polymerase chain reaction technique, or the PCR test, he shared the 1993 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Michael Smith and was awarded the Japan Prize in the same year.
Listen to what he says about the test here and why we will always, always find more cases.
Interestingly, he died in 2019! (35 seconds)
