Trump’s trial opens door for possible ‘Hillary Clinton impeachment’.
Hillary Clinton is at risk of impeachment over her work as former secretary of state according to the Democrat-led argument that a government official can be impeached after leaving office, says Trump’s former chief of staff Mick Mulvaney.
“We all hope that we are not moving to realm where it becomes normal for us to sue or bring criminal charges against former elected politicians once they are out of office,” he told Sky News.
Mr Mulvaney said while Mr Trump’s lawyers had done a “lousy job some of the time” they raised “really good questions” over the constitutionality of impeachment after the elected politician in question has left office.
