The Covid19 Omnibus Bill passed.
By Staff Reporter
The Covid19 Omnibus Bill passed 21 – 16 at about 2am this morning. To add insult to the wound, the Liberal Party introduced an amendment to remove travel restrictions but the minors and independents (not all) stood by Labor ensuring the amendment was defeated.
Fiona Pattern (Reason Party), Andy Meddick (Animal Justice Party), Samantha Ratnam (Geeens) & Jeff Bourman (Shooters, Fishers & Farmers Party) all voted in favour of the Bill giving Labor the numbers it needed.
As soon as the Hansard is out, we will publish which MPs voted for the Bill and who voted against the lifting of travel restrictions.
*Please note that this does not mean Dan won’t lift travel restrictions on Sunday. The amendment being defeated just means there’s no certainty in place that it will be lifted.
Please also note that the removal of children for up to 30months is misinformation spread by the media. This clause related to the extension of reunification orders for children already in CPS care.
If there is one positive to take from this madness, it is the uprising of citizens. Never before have we seen so many Australians so politically engaged. Let’s hope more Aussies now realise the two party system will never work in favour of the people and vote accordingly at the next election.
