Campaign for Liberty Chairman Ron Paul recently penned an op-ed for Reason magazine on the 2018 elections which argued that support for a federal war on marijuana is a losing position. Dr. Paul discusses how his support for ending the war on marijuana was unsuccessfully used against him in his 1996 campaign to return to Congress. He also discusses President Trump’s support for marijuana federalism and raises concerns about President Trump’s nominee for Attorney General, William Barr. During his tenure as President George H.W. Bush’s Attorney General from 1991-1993, Barr was a fanatical drug warrior and a champion of civil asset theft. Dr. Paul also calls on Congress to pass the STATES Act.
