The stabbing and killing of six shoppers and wounding another eight at Westfield Centre is difficult to swallow when three men of any size could have overcome the slightly-built 40 year-old assailant. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese yesterday praised the bravery of hero cop Inspector Amy Scott, who entered the Westfield on her own before gunning down Cauchi. (replace the C with F and who have we got?)

We question how and why a lone female police inspector happened to be nearby and usually an officer of that rank seldom carry their ‘battle kit’ which includes a .40 cal Glock pistol, unless they are on an operation.
Had this event occurred in any of the US ‘concealed carry states’ the attacker would not have made it past the first victim. He would have been stopped or shot by a bystander or armed security guard.
